My story begins in Apple Valley, California. Growing up in the desert, there wasn’t much to do. You could go to Burger King or play with rocks. I loved shiny things, so I played with rocks. It wasn’t until I moved to Michigan and started working in alternative healthcare that I learned about how crystals can have healing qualities. That’s when my love for science and sparkles finally found common ground (pun intended) and my passion for minerals soared. I began selling crystals, sourcing them from friends back home who didn’t want to work at the singular Burger King, and what started as a hobby quickly turned into a business.
I soon discovered that not all crystals are sourced and distributed ethically. To do better, I started cutting and polishing my own stones and began my search for suppliers who shared my concerns. Now, I work with suppliers from all over the world, and I make sure that nobody is hurt or exploited while obtaining my minerals. This can be challenging and tedious, but I do it because I care. Taking this extra step has made me many friends in the crystal community, which has given me special access to the rare minerals you see on my website and in my facebook group.
